Disability Support & Inclusion Initiative

We work to reduce these barriers by promoting disability-inclusive support, strengthening community access to skills and services, and enabling people with disabilities to participate fully in inclusive development and pathways to economic independence.

~9.3%

of the Tanzanian population lives with a disability.

In rural Tanzania, persons with disabilities often face significant barriers to basic services, participation in economic life, and social inclusion. These challenges—compounded by lack of accessible infrastructure, support systems, and inclusive livelihood opportunities—restrict independence and reinforce cycles of exclusion and poverty.

“Disability does not limit potential—barriers do. Inclusion removes those barriers and allows everyone to belong.”
